What is barre?

Barre is a dbarre classifferent type of strength training class.  Don’t worry: no dance experience or equipment is required. Barre Fusion is a full body, low impact class that utilizes small isometric contractions that will slim the hips, tighten the thighs, lift the derriere, strengthen the core and improve flexibility, posture and balance. The isometric exercise is a great way to maintain muscle strength. There is a lower risk of injury because you’re not straining tendons or ligaments with the small movements.  

What is barre class like?

A typical barre fusion class would include a dynamic stretching warm up, a series of arm exercises and work at the barre utilizing bands and body weight for a lower body and core- intensive workout. We will use small hand weights and resistance bands for the arm exercises and a soft exercise ball to help work the midsection.  Class will conclude with a series of stretches and relaxation exercises.

Please join our instructors, Nashira Council and Aubrey O’Hara, in the Barre Studio for a motivating total body workout that will leave you feeling the burn.

Class Fees

There is a class fee for both gym members and non-members.

Payment should be made at the front desk at Penn Oaks when you check in for class. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted for payment.
